ON WATER Lakeside Loon-A-See is located right on South Turtle Lake in Winchester, which is part of a three lake chain. South Turtle Lake alone, has 466 acres that you can explore! It's great for fishing, tubing, water skiing, boating, floating, swimming...you get the idea! There's a private dock on the shore for you to launch off on all of your adventures! And if you're lucky, you'll find the family of loons that spend a lot of time just off the dock! LARGE GRASS YARD The yard is truly one of a kind here in the Northwoods! There is grass for miles (or so it feels!) for all the yard games you can imagine, there's also a firepit near the home for those late night S'mores! NEARBY TOWNS Just steps down the road is the quaint town of Winchester. A little further down the road you will find.... 🔘 Downtown Manitowish Waters with restaurants/bars, and shops (14 min.) 🔘 Koller Park, home of music in the park!🎶 (13 min.) 🔘 Rest Lake Park w/ large pavilion (13 min.) 🔘 Discovery Center w/ hiking trails and brand new learning center (13 min.) 🔘 Downtown Mercer and all its restaurants/bars, and shops (16 min.) 🔘 Access to hundreds of ATV/UTV and snowmobile trails SCREEN PORCH Just off the dining room, is an oversized screen porch where you can sip your coffee and soak up the views of towering over South Turtle Lake. We love the Northwoods, but we don't love the bugs...this space allows you to comfortably enjoy the serenity at Lakeside Loon-A-See without dealing with it's other guests! FINISHED BASEMENT Downstairs is a fully finished basement that walks right out to outside! There is a gas fireplace, dining (or card!) table, and a bar! There is also a bedroom, full bathroom, and laundry room downstairs as well. OPEN LIVING SPACE Upstairs you'll find an open concept kitchen, living, and dining space! This area is big enough for your entire group to really spend some quality time together and make those lifelong memories! 4 BEDROOMS There are three bedrooms on the main floor with: - Two twin beds - One king bed - One queen bed And one bedroom downstairs with: - Two twin beds 2 BATHROOMS There are two full bathrooms in the home, one on the main floor and the other downstairs. Both are recently updated. To make your stay more comfortable we provide, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. FISHING We maximize the fishing season by installing our dock early in the spring and keeping it in place until late fall. Our dock accommodates two boats, ensuring easy access to the water. The Turtle Lake Chain, spanning around 1,000 acres, offers exceptional year-round fishing opportunities. It's a renowned Class A Muskie lake and a prime spot for Walleye fishing. You'll also find Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Crappie, Bluegill, and Panfish. South Turtle Lake covers 466 acres with a maximum depth of 40 feet and features a public boat landing. North Turtle Lake spans 359 acres with a depth of up to 58 feet, while Rock Lake covers 120 acres with a maximum depth of 18 feet. Ice fishing is also popular on our chain during the winter months. SNOWMOBILING Located on the border of Vilas County, with 600 miles of trails, and Iron County, with 300 miles, the snowmobile trail routes are extensive and varied. You can access the trails directly from the house, with the trailhead just two blocks away. We ensure convenient parking by plowing a large area to accommodate two trucks with medium-sized trailers. Key nearby destinations include Manitowish Waters (8 miles west), Mercer (8 miles northwest), Presque Isle (10 miles east), Boulder Junction (20 miles southwest), Minocqua (30 miles south), and Hurley (33 miles northeast).
